Quarantine day 20+++ getting you down?? Start your day with this smoothie bowl to keep you energized all morning long. A smoothie bowl is basically a smoothie that is thicker and therefore almost tastes like sorbet without all that added sugar. This is a great recipe to do with the kids because it is simple and fun.

Since this recipe requires less liquid than a smoothie I recommend using a food processor or high quality blender. If you don't have either of these you may need to add a bit more liquid and mix half way with a spoon to help it blend. You can use any frozen fruit you have at home but I really enjoy the balance of the sweet berries with the tang of tropical fruit. The banana adds a natural creaminess to the bowl! Feel switch it up as you like!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup frozen berries

  • 1/3 cup frozen tropical fruit (I enjoy the mango, pineapple, passion fruit blend)

  • 1/2 a frozen ripe banana

  • 3 tbsp almond/ coconut milk

  • Topping- fresh or frozen fruit, hemp hearts, chia seeds, coconut, granola, nuts! Have fun with it and use what you have at home

Instructions

  • In food processor blend all ingredients ( minus the toppings)

  • Add extra liquid if it won't blend but be patient!

  • Top your bowl any way you would like! This is a great way to get the kids involved!

Let me know how you make your smoothie bowl!
